SPRING SCHEDULE

We will be splitting into 3 groups of 2 classrooms each as follows: Group 1 -  9:00-10:00  Mrs. Choy and Mrs. Kinna Group 2 –  11:00-12:00  Miss Henderson and Mrs. Bailey Group 3 –  1:00-2:00     Mrs. McDonald and Miss Neale The art classes will run for 3 Mondays in a row with Amanda leading the children in drawing on the first day and painting on the second day. April 23rd, April 30 and May 7th. We spent this weekend prepping all the wood blocks with a primer. These will be installed around the school.

Amanda Lye - Visual Artist

Amanda Lye (Edgar's Mom) is a Visual Artist as part of the ArtStarts project and will be coming to the classrooms to further discuss and the First Nation artists that come to the Annex and make some Art together! You can see these paintings in person at Sunset Community Centre  from April - August 2018 Amanda's background is in Interdisciplinary Visual Arts. She studied Fine Arts from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University, Langara College, and Emily Carr. She teaches art classes to children, coordinates Special Events in community centres in South Vancouver, and is a practicing Visual Artist. She has an art blog  where you can read more about her past projects.  Amanda makes  art and jewelry inspired by nature and also enjoys to take photos/document projects.
